Aqua Interpreting Group Joins Successful Dubai Trade Visit with West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce
Aqua Interpreting Group recently had the privilege of joining the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce on a successful trade mission to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The visit included business engagements in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It was an invaluable opportunity to forge commercial links and explore new opportunities. Additionally it showcased Yorkshire’s thriving business community on an international stage.
Strengthening Global Business Connections
The West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce led a delegation of some of the region’s most dynamic businesses, including Aqua Interpreting Group, to strengthen ties between Yorkshire and the Gulf state. The mission aimed to enhance trade and investment links, facilitating meaningful discussions with key stakeholders across a range of industries.
One of the standout moments of the visit was the Great Yorkshire Show Garden Party. This was held at the British Embassy in Dubai. Delegates were hosted by Sarah Mooney, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for the Middle East and Pakistan, who warmly welcomed businesses looking to expand into the UAE. Additionally, the event provided an exceptional networking platform, reinforcing Yorkshire’s reputation as a hub of innovation and enterprise.

Key Highlights from the Trade Mission
During the trip, delegates:
Received an economic update at HSBC Tower, gaining insights into business opportunities in the UAE.
Travelled to Abu Dhabi to engage with members of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, discussing trade expansion and collaboration.
Explored a Free Zone in central Dubai, learning about its strategic benefits for international businesses.

Why Dubai?
As the third most visited city in the world, with a GDP exceeding $170 billion, Dubai is a thriving hub for real estate, trade, and financial services. Clearly, it is an ideal destination for businesses looking to expand internationally due to its commitment to innovation and global connectivity
James Mason, Chief Executive of the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, emphasised the enthusiasm for global trade, stating:
“The appetite for forging new business connections globally remains high in Yorkshire, and the UAE was a clear stand-out choice for a trade mission following on from successful visits to the USA, Pakistan, Kenya, and Sri Lanka in 2024. It is our pleasure and duty to showcase the cream of Yorkshire businesses to the world.”
